Mayenda Church, the 114year old Church

The official history of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana says the church is 120years old. In a remote village in the Central Region of Ghana stands a church building that was built in 1896 according to church members of the SDA church at Mayenda.

A banner hanging in the temple announces to worshippers and visitors that the church at Mayenda was 100years old in 1994; meaning the centenary celebrations of the SDA Church in Mayenda was held in 1994. Today, the church is 114years and its church building 112years old.

Below are some pictures of old church building, a mission house and some historical relics of the church. It will interest you to know two of the relics (chairs) are claimed to have been used by missionaries a century ago. Let's go to Mayenda now!
