Chief Justice of Ghana Celebrates Bible Sabbath with Adventists

On February 23, 2008, the Chief Justice of Ghana, Her Ladyship Mrs Georgina Theodora Woods joined Adventists at the Madina Central SDA Church to celebrate the Bible Sabbath. The programme was put together by the Bible Society of Ghana under the theme "The Bible, Leadership and Unity for Nation Building".

The Chief Justice, who said that was her first time of worshipping with Seventh-day Adventists, drew lessons from the life of Nehemiah and said leaders ought to emulate Nehemiah's humility, self sacrifice, dedication, and devotion to God.

"The Bible acknowledges that when we have the right rulers, everybody is at peace. In the book of Proverb 29:2, we read: "Show me a righteous ruler and i will show you a happy people. Show me a wicked ruler and i will show you a miserable people." Conversley, when "evil people are in power, crime increases. But the righteous will live to see the downfall of such people" she said.
